27 Mukwonago Grizzly wrestlers headed to East Troy on Saturday for an opportunity to practice what they drilled in practice. We returned leading all teams with 31 pins, the 3rd team trophy and 7 individual championships. What a Day!
In the K-2 division: Carson Taylor tallied 2 pins in 3 matches on his way to an East Troy championship. Logan James, Mike Bruch and Clayton Kippers all earned “runner up” places. Zachary Eliszewski and Wade Kippers battled tough placing 4th.
In the 3rd-4th division: Jake Adams with 2 pins and Luke Garvens with 1 pin both finished undefeated and earned a Saturday championship. Jacob Vandepool and Tyler Roszak both won two of three matches and earned 2nd place. Derek Schiltz, Ben Sterny and Zevin Para-Cremer battled their hearts out placing is 3rd while Haiden Baxa earned the honors of a very tough bracket placing 4th.
In the 5th– 6th grade division we had 4 champions in; Josh Garvens, Jake Garvens, Mikey Gindhart and Mike West who between the 4 of them had 11 pins in 12 matches- Wow! Earning 2nd place awards were: Luke Eliszewski, Benjamin Stein, Alex Larson, Justin Eichler, Nathan Vandepool and Lee Kowalkowski. The following Grizzly’s Luke Stromberg, Phoenix Nettesheim and Charlie Gindhart gave everything they had finishing the day with 4th place medals.
It was a day that we were proud to be a Mukwonago coaches with the effort our team put forth.
