The Mukwonago Grizzly Wrestling Club is excited to announce the “2014 Mini-Grizzly tournament.

We are putting this event together to reward those kids who have come to practice and worked hard to build new wrestling skills, but are not yet ready to compete. This will be a great way to end the season for many of our inexperienced wrestlers and give them a chance to test the skills and get a taste of competition. Our Criteria is limited to those kids who are basically first kids and have wrestled in 2 or  less tournaments.

The 2014 Mini-Grizzly will be held in the Practice room on March 6^th,

It will be pre-bracketed and will start at 5:30pm sharp. It will be run similar to a weekend tournament, except it is Intra-squad and there is no cost.  Wrestlers get pins for a pin hat and Grizzly points for participation. All wrestlers will receive a Grizzly medal.  Again it’s limited to kids who are not participating weekend tournaments.  Attached is a participation form…Please return to the practice table during practice so we know you would like to participate.

• For those not wrestling in Tournaments Last day:  Inter-quad Mini Grizzly Tournament Thursday March 6th
• For those wrestling in Tournaments but too young for the regional qualifier: (must be born in 2006 for Regionals.) your last tournament is Saturday Mar 8th Badger (Lake Geneva) Tournament

Last practice Thursday March 27^th

MWC will go to 1 session starting March 11th:  6pm to 7:45pm

• For those wrestling in The Regional-Qualifier Tournament your last practice is March 27^th. (The regional-Qualifier is March15^th. But even if you do not qualify for State please come to practice the next 2 weeks to help your teammates who qualified for State get ready, and of course continue to get better.

Freestyle & Greco practice starts – April 1st

• For those that want to take their wrestling to the next level. Freestyle & Greco practice begins April 1st 6pm to 7:45pm, need to be born in 2005 or older to participate….

State Freestyle & Greco Tournament is May 3^rd /4^th.

1st-Our Mukwonago Grizzly Open tournament is Sunday Feb 16th (Most of the set-up is Saturday evening)

2nd – We will be holding a 2 Short Parent Meetings Tuesday.

         in Classroom 126 from 5:40pm- 6pm  for 1st group (younger) wrestler’s parents.

         and from 6:50pm- 705pm for 2nd group (older) wrestler’s parents.

         We will go over the details and resource needs to run the tournament.

3rd – We are asking each Family to donate an 8 pack of 12 oz Gatorades and baked goods such as cookies, bars ect… Anything that you think kids would love to eat.  Please put them in Ziploc baggies quantity of 10 in amounts that will sell for 50 cents. 

 You can bring these in these in anytime next week, drop them off at the practice table, or bring to the tournament Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

4th – if your child plans on wrestling in the tournament please return the bottom half of the form I have attached with $5, I need by Thursday but sooner is better.

Our travel weekend is set.

The plan is to travel to West De Pere High School Saturday morning to wrestle then stay overnight at the Tundra Lodge. Sunday is the Super Bowl day, but we have more than plenty of time to get home Sunday for a 5:30pm start….

We have a block of rooms set aside reserve until Jan 19, 2014 at the Tundra Lodge.

You can book either (Saturday only) or (both Friday and Saturday nights), Price is $129.00 per night, Rooms in reserve are double queen with sleeper sofa.  Each room has up to 6 water park passes included daily. The tournament is the West De Pere Youth 2014 tournament, you need to Pre Registrater on trackwrestling

The club will be ordering Pizza on Saturday evening, unfortunately we cannot bring in our own food/snacks or have beverage coolers hanging around in the meeting room with the pizzas…. But we will have fun anyways. Just means a walk back to the room to get another beverage if you desire.
